Let us stop for a moment and think. Don't we all tend to neglect
something more important when we get bogged down by the hard
work of just trying to make a living? Does the time and energy we
spend really bring us what's worthwhile? In today's dynamic, fast
paced world of increased globalization, can anyone stay out of this
current and just mind one's own business any more?

In the search for answers, we find that what the world needs most
today is stability and a spirit of sharing. For thousands of years,
humankind has engaged in periods of conflict much more often than
experiencing periods of peace. The consequence has thus far been
incessant retaliation carried out by generation after generation,
compounded with the insatiable desire, especially during the past
several centuries, for materialistic advancement that is depleting
natural resources in a destructive way. The ecosystem has come to
a point of perilous danger.

Can human beings go on like this? If not, what can we do at this
stage? We, the people at Chien Kun, sincerely believe that by
bringing about mutual understanding and mutual respects among
people, it will truly help rectify the problems. Therefore, we have
chosen '龢'(harmony) as our goal. This is what the world needs to
solve its problems. To harmonize, to make peace. Humankind has
long forgotten that we all came from the same origin. We are
supposed to be one big family. With the chaos in the world today,
the only way to settle the situation is for all of us to come to this
realization, and care the Earth in a loving, appreciative way for all
that we have, and for each other.

It's not too late. Start rectifying by educating the young generation
now. Learn from the wisdom of Confucius to bring out the bright virtue
of human beings, rather than promoting and glorifying the darkness
of human vice. Through the application of Confucius' advanced way of
education, we can restore a harmonious family, and thereby build a
healthy, stable society.
